Bleeding Cool reported a rumor that Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan may be in consideration to play Johnny Storm in the latest Fantastic Four revamp. I thought this guy was amazing in that movie and I really think he would be a great fit for this character. I don’t usually like to post casting rumors, but I thought I’d get the word out so we could let the creators know that there is support for this sort of thing.
One reason why I feel they may not go in this direction is because it means they would have to cast a black actress for Sue. Which I’m totally cool with, but movie producers are racist jackasses and they may balk at the idea of half the team being non-white. And that’s assuming they only consider white actors for Ben and Reed. (I don’t see why it matters at all for Ben, he’s just going to be a giant rock guy for most of the film).
But if they do cast him, I would be very interested to see who they would cast as Sue. It’s all very exciting!
